A.V.Q.M. Smits van Oyen MSc (1958)

Alexander Smits van Oyen is managing director of the SOVEC Fund. He started his professional career with ABN in 1985, were he mainly worked for the Venture Capital branch (APM) of the bank until 1989. Alexander is one of the founders of CDI Netherlands, that was set up in 1989. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of CDI Global and is active in various external non-executive boards. Alexander holds a masters degree in Business Management, from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

W.J. van Scheltinga MSc (1981) 

Wietse van Scheltinga is investment analyst at SOVEC. He obtained a Masters in Policital Science in 2007 and has finished his Masters in Economics end 2009. Wietse has a great interest in financial economics and development economics.

H. Verloop MBA (1951) Chairman

Until very recently Hein Verloop was CEO of the Driessen Aerospace Group BV. Prior to that he was CEO of Schreiner Aviation Group where he led their reorganisation. As delegate member of the NPM, a Dutch private equity firm, Hein serves on the board of various companies. Hein studied Law and holds a MBA from the Technische Universiteit Delft.
 

P. Liverpool MSc (1964)

Philip Liverpool works with Shell International, and currently leads (Exploration and Production) Business Development projects in Europe. Prior to that his focus areas in Business Development were Asia Pacific, the Former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Africa. He joined Shell in 1993, and has lived and worked internationally as a Driller, as a Major Contract Negotiator and in the Business Intelligence unit. Philip is a Ziolkowski graduate in Applied Geophysics, of Technische Universiteit Delft. His origins lie in Ghana.
 

F.J.J. Demeijer (1958)

Since 1996 Fred is a self-employed interim manager. Prior to this (1982-1995) he has worked for the consultancy arm of a middle sized accountants firm, Exxon (IT), BASF (Finance & Control) and a family owned company in the confectionary industry. Fred has extensive experience in positions on various levels and in multiple sectors.

 

J.W. Brook (1970)

Jacques is chairman of the SOVEC Foundation. He is also Partner at Ordina NV. Before joining Ordina in 2006, he worked for KPN in The Netherlands. He has a background in mathematics and strategic management. He holds a Master of Science degree in computer science from the Eindhoven University of Technology and a doctor degree in business administration (with distinction) from the Maastricht School of Management. Throughout the years, his work has focused on helping companies to drive business transformation through innovation. Jacques is also involved in business development projects for small and medium enterprises, and large enterprises in Africa. In part-time, he is associate professor of corporate innovation strategies and emerging markets at the Maastricht School of Management.
