Investment Criteria & Policy

We mostly invest in SMEs having either a track record of profitability as stand-alone businesses or the potential to become one. As such, we do not exclude start-ups led by excellent management teams from our purview. These enterprises are expected to stimulate their regional economy and create employment opportunities. We are keen on entrepreneurs who combine competitive business models, and attitude with social interest.   

Our average investment range between € 50,000 and € 500,000 per company in Equity, Debt and Hybrid types of capital. In return for our equity investments (for instance) SOVEC obtains significant minority stakes, generally preferring the entrepreneur to maintain the leading shareholding position.

We invest in close co-operation with our Local Investment Partners with whom we take an active approach in monitoring and ,where necessary, co-manage our joint investments. Also, we aspire to be actively involved through, for example, taking a board seat in the investee company.

We do not invest in companies with activities or products that have negative environmental or social impact or are otherwise considered non-sustainable.
