Investment Policy

We invest in SMEs with a track record, that either are profitable, stand alone businesses, or have the potential to become one. These businesses stimulate the regional economy and create employment. The entrepreneur(s) must combine a successful business attitude with a sound social attitude. We do not exclude start-ups with an excellent team. We will not invest in companies with activities or products that have a negative environmental or social impact or are otherwise considered non-sustainable.

We invest between € 50,000 and € 500,000 per company and provide both equity and debt. SOVEC obtains a (significant) minority stake as we in general, believe that the entrepreneur should maintain the leading position. We invest in close co-operation with our local investment partners, with whom we take an active approach in monitoring and where necessary co-managing our joint investments. Wherever appropriate, we link our SOVEC Entrepreneur to support the SME in the relevant area. Also, we aspire to be actively involved through for example taking a board seat in the portfolio company.
